How RCN Holiday Parks got an all-in-one solution with Maxxton

RCN Holiday Parks operates 18 unique locations across the Netherlands, France, and Germany. Each park is distinguished by its stunning countryside setting and unique character, offering a wide variety of pitches and rental accommodations. With 1,600 trailer-chalets, cabins, and bungalows, and 6,800 pitches, RCN ensures guests enjoy a memorable and relaxing holiday experience.

The challenge

Operating across three countries with differing legislative and operational demands brought several challenges to light. RCN’s existing software struggled to adapt to these evolving requirements, including:

Design phase

Switching to a new system can be challenging for users accustomed to established workflows. Resistance to change, steep learning curves, and uncertainty can make the process daunting. To ease the transition, it is essential to prioritise structured planning and clear communication. This includes effectively outlining the new system’s benefits and providing consistent guidance throughout the process. Weekly calls, Jira tickets, chats, and face-to-face meetings ensured that all stakeholders remained aligned and well-informed.

RCN conducted a comprehensive review of its existing business processes, carefully mapping and evaluating the requirements for software solutions.

After being accustomed to the previous system for 20 years, users tend to resist new methods. However, by getting them accustomed to Maxxton software, we were able to win their trust”, says Susan Smits.

Implementation phase

The transition to Maxxton software included meticulous data migration to ensure no loss of data while retaining access to historical records.

The RCN team received comprehensive training and ongoing support during and after implementation, ensuring they felt confident and comfortable using Maxxton software.

Ongoing Optimisation

After the go-live, RCN was given the opportunity to deliver new solutions and possibilities to the platform at Maxxton. Maxxton embraces this feedback with both hands, this co-creation ensures an even better solution for our industry. Furthermore, this collaboration results in the development of innovative solutions, including a mobile household app, an activity planner and a customer service solution that streamlines the handling of guest questions and reduces manual tasks.
